As we enter the new year, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on the milestones we’ve achieved, and express our gratitude to our clients, partners, and dedicated team members. 2024 has been pivotal for advancing telehealth triage, marked by significant strides in Nurse Triage On Call, MedMessage Assist™ (MMA), and remote patient monitoring (RPM). These advancements have strengthened our commitment to improving patient care, enhancing practice efficiency, and addressing changes in the healthcare landscape.
Advancing Nurse Triage On Call Services
Our experienced registered nurses have continued to support countless patients by providing professional advice, guidance, and reassurance — both during the day and after normal office hours. Using evidence-based protocols, they ensure that patients receive the right care at the right time, helping practices reduce unnecessary visits and associated costs.
This service has played a critical role in the advancement of telehealth triage, particularly through its ability to integrate with a medical practice’s in-house software and existing workflows. Patient phone interactions are shared directly with electronic health records (EHRs) so that providers have a complete overview of symptoms and concerns. This not only engages patients in their own care, but also reduces liability for practices by addressing urgent after-hours requests.
TriageIntelligence™: Enhanced 911 Assessment
We’ve added a powerful new 911 assessment feature to our TriageIntelligence software. This update guides nurses through critical 911 evaluations, automatically documenting each step and nurse notes without requiring manual entry. Our system alerts nurses immediately when potentially life-threatening situations are identified so that their responses to patients are timely and accurate.
Implementing this assessment has significantly improved patient safety, consistency in care, and reduced training time for new staff. Even experienced nurses who may not be tech-savvy can now document their notes faster and with greater accuracy. This means that seasoned nurses who offer excellent clinical judgment, but who may struggle with multitasking or complex systems, can still utilize our software and contribute to better patient care.
MedMessage Assist: A Revolution in Medical Answering Services
TriageLogic’s MedMessage Assist exemplifies how AI-driven tools are advancing telehealth triage. Unlike traditional systems, MMA uses artificial intelligence to achieve over 99% accuracy in capturing patient messages and requests. It utilizes natural language processing and advanced medical algorithms to advise nonclinical operators of the right symptom-related questions to ask patients, as well as document key information for triage nurses — all without the need for specialized training.
MMA’s guided prompts vastly improve the intake process and make it an invaluable tool for completing administrative work that practices often require. Its ability to gauge symptom severity has led to a high level of accuracy that reduces the risk for delayed care and poor health outcomes.
Expanding the Role of Remote Patient Monitoring
Along with tools like the CDC’s Chronic Disease Indicators, remote patient monitoring has proven to be very beneficial to providers for managing cases of chronic illness. Our turnkey RPM solutions allow them to continuously monitor patients with these conditions more effectively for better quality of life and fewer hospital readmissions.
What sets our RPM services apart is their integration with our nurse triage platform. Patient vitals are closely monitored, and any indications of negative health changes will trigger immediate support from our nurses. This integration enhances the scope and responsiveness of telehealth triage, allowing patients to receive timely guidance and care.
Looking Ahead
For 2025 and beyond, TriageLogic remains dedicated to advancing telehealth triage through refining and expanding our services. The new year presents opportunities to build on the progress we’ve already made while exploring new solutions to enhance triage coverage and efficiency.
From nonclinical operators to practitioners, our goal is to provide tools and services that simplify workflows and improve patient outcomes. By leveraging advancements in AI and cloud technology, we aim to optimize these platforms, maintain HIPAA-compliant data sharing, and offer innovative solutions that meet the demands of modern healthcare systems.
