Training Courses for Triage Nurses Are Available
TriageLogic has recently updated and replaced the outdated Flash videos for Course 1 and Course 2 in the Learning Center, to better allow access on any device. Whether you are beginning your telephone triage journey as a new nurse, or you simply want to brush up on the material, the resources and information within this program will improve and refine your skills in telephone nurse triage. The Learning Center is compiled of different courses, ascending in numerical order. Inside each course, you will find several lessons pertaining to the course-specific study. You have the option of receiving the TriageLogic certification at the end of each course you complete.
COURSE 1 : Creating a Positive Call Experience for You and Your Patients
Course 1 focuses on creating a positive experience for both you and your patients. There are three video lessons that expand on this course-specific topic. These video lessons provide vital information regarding the phone call experience you will have with different patients. Not every patient or call will be the same. For that reason, the content within this course has been tailored to help prepare you so that you can ensure a more positive experience for both the patient and yourself.
- Lesson 1 – Working With Patients : This section covers topics, such as, how to use professional communication skills, setting up the proper working environment, becoming an effective listener, and more.
- Lesson 2 – Managing Difficult Calls : In addition to having compassion and understanding, you will learn about the different types of difficult callers and three ways to manage difficult calls.
- Lesson 3 – How to Handle Uncomfortable Situations : This lesson will prepare you for uncomfortable moments, such as abuse and neglect, worried callers, and unauthorized callers, and the best strategies on how to assist those patients.
COURSE 2 : Clinical Protocol Training
Lesson 1 in Course 2 was also updated in the Learning Center. Clinical protocol training is the focal point for this course. Diving deeper into telephone nurse triage, we take a closer look at the steps to a triage call and the triage protocol guidelines. This video will give you a visually stimulating approach in training nurses on the clinical protocols. Protocols help ensure patient’s safety with the highest level of care and for that reason, it is critical to understand how to utilize clinical protocols adequately.
- Lesson 1 – What Are the Critical Steps to a Triage Call : You will learn the 10 step process of how to appropriately triage a call to make certain that your patients get the appropriate care they need.
